Shopify POS Integration

Note: This features requires the Shopify POS integration to be enabled on OMNI and is only eligible for merchants on certain plans. Contact us to learn more.

Important notice

Our legacy POS tile (app website) will be deprecated in Summer 2025 and your original "Search customer" tile has already been automtically upgraded to the new "OMNI Loyalty" tile.

If you are not currently using the new OMNI Loyalty tile you should follow the instructions below to set up the new POS app to avoid potential disruptions upon deprecation.

OMNI is integrated with Shopify POS and merchants with the Shopify POS integration enabled can utilize our POS app to achieve the following use caes:

  • Look up existing customers and create new customer profiles directly on Shopify POS

  • Instantly see customer statuses, preferences, and other information to provide a personalized CX

  • Reward customers by helping them earn points online and offline

  • Provide a VIP anywhere experience by letting customers use their rewards everywhere.

Setting up the POS app

Please ensure that you are logged into an account with the β€œCustomize smart grid for device's location” permission before you begin.

There are 2 ways you can set up our POS app

For all POS locations at once

  1. Access the OMNI Loyalty admin in Shopify and navigate to "POS & Retail" on the app navigation

  2. In the section "POS Setup", Click "Setup" for Set up OMNI with Shopify POS.

  3. Click "Add" on both "Smart grid tile" and "Additional areas" to add the OMNI Loyalty POS app into all your Shopify POS locations.

For individual POS locations

  1. Log in to your POS device and select the location that you would like to add the tile to.

  2. Press "Add tile"

  3. Select "App" > "OMNI Loyalty & Rewards" > "App extensions"

  4. Add "OMNI Loyalty"

  5. Arrange the tile into the desired position on your POS an click "Save"

POS app features

Searching and adding customers to cart

Launch the "OMNI Loyalty" tile to initiate a customer search when a customer is at your POS location.

You can search for the customer by their phone, name, or email. You can also scan their member QR code if you have the member QR code feature enabled on your storefront. If a customer is found, you can select the customer and add them to cart.

Contact us if you would like to enable the member QR code on your storefront.

If no existing customer can be found with your search, you can also create a new customer directly with the email and phone you have inputted following the steps shown on screen. The customer will be able to earn points for their first order too.

Performing additional loyalty actions for the customer

After selecting the customer, you will be directed to the customer's loyalty profile where you can view information about:

  1. Customer details: such as name, email, phone number, birthday.

  2. Loyalty information: points balance, points history, current tier, amount to spend till next tier

You can also use this page to perform loyalty actions for the customer:

  • Add and remove points

  • Redeem new rewards

  • Apply existing rewards to cart

  • Update the customer's birthday month

  • Update the customer's custom tiers (if applicable)

Once completed, you can close the app and proceed to checkout on the POS.
