Send automated loyalty emails with Shopify email

You may want to send out communications to your customers when specific loyalty events occurs to increase customer engagement and even conversion. OMNI Loyalty's integration with Shopify Email (via Shopify Flow) allows you to achieve this.

Upon the occurance of specific loyalty events in OMNI Loyalty, we will send out relevant Shopify Flow triggers which you can use to trigger automations on Shopify Flow to send out static emails to the customer who has triggred the loyalty event.

Requirements

You must satisfy all of the below requirements before you can begin setting up automated loyalty emails with Shopify Email

  • Be subscribed to the Essential or a higher plan on OMNI Loyalty

  • Have Shopify Flow & Shopify Email installed on your store

  • Have set the "Shopify flow trigger" setting to All triggers or Shopify email only within your Integration settings

Set up

Below are the high level steps of creating an automated loyalty email with Shopify email on Shopify Flow.

  1. Select your desired email flow from our templates and download the Shopify Flow template files in the Download section

  2. Go to the Shopify Flow app and select "Import" on the top right

  3. Review and modify the flow to fit your needs

  4. Click on the action "Send marketing email" and select the relevant email you wan to send out. You will need to configure the emails in the Shopify Email app first.

You may also create your own automated email flows using the Shopify flow triggers available to your plan by selecting a Shopify Flow trigger provided by OMNI Loyalty and attaching a "Send Marketing email" action at the end

Shopify Flow triggers available based on your plan

  • Essential plan - you will get access to Shopify flow triggers for our basic email flow templates, including:

    • Member activated

    • Birth month entered

    • Points added

    • Points expiring

  • Grow or Advanced plan - you will get access to all Shopify flow triggers

Basic email flows & templates

The following email flows are recommended by us for all merchants and you can use our Shopify Flow templates for easy set up.

  • Welcome email

  • Birthday email

  • Points added from purchase email

  • Points expiring in 30 days email

You will need to be on the Essential or above plan.

Welcome email

Use the welcome email to greet your new customers. You migt want to share with them a short introduction of your brand or communicate your welcome offers

Summary

  • Sent upon - a customer profile is created in Shopify

  • Shopify Flow trigger - Member activated

Birthday email

Use the birthday email to celebrate your customer's birthday. Make their special moment even more special with special rewards and perks for them during this special month!

Summary

  • Sent upon - the 1st day of the customer's birthday month OR the day after the customer signed up if they signed up during their birthday month

  • Shopify Flow trigger - Birth month entered

Tip - If you have more than 1 tier in your loyalty program and you have different birthday benefits set, then you may want to use conditions to set different emails for each tier!

Points added from purchase email

You may want to notify customers when the points from their recent purchases have been processed and credited to their account. This could bring them back to your store to check their point balance and redeem rewards for another purchase!

  • Sent upon - Points are added to the customer from a purchase

  • Shopify Flow trigger - Points added

  • Condition - type = purchase

Tip - You can remove the condition if you want to send out emails for all scenarios when points are added (such as manual adjustments, refunding a redeemed reward code, getting special bonuses from the system, etc...). We recommend limiting it to purchases so customers are not overwhelmed by the potential amount of emails

Points expiring email

When there are points that are about to expire in 30 days, you can send an email to remind customers to use those points before they are gone. This could encourage some reward redemption and purchases with its time sensitivity.

Advanced email flows & templates

The following email flows are recommended by us for merchant with more specific needs or require advanced features. You can also apply our Shopify Flow templates for easy set up.

You will need to be on the Grow or above plan.

Tier update email

If you have multiple tiers in your loyalty program (Grow plan or above), you may want to congratulate your customers for reaching a new higher tier and communicate the new perks they've unlocked with the new tier.

Summary

  • Sent upon - Customers upgraded into a higher tier

  • Shopify Flow trigger - Tier updated

  • Condition - type = spending_upgrade

Tip - You should add or modify conditions to create multiple branches in your Shopify Flow so you can configure a different email for each tier to communicate each tier's unique benefits and perks
