Once you Klaviyo integration is set up with OMNI Loyalty, here are a few ways you can utilize our integration
Use loyalty custom properties to
populate email content
build customer segments
create conditional splits in your flows
Use loyalty events (app metrics) synced to
automate email communications upon specific loyalty events occuring and populate event properties into the email
build customer segments
Using loyalty customer properties
Once the integration is enabled and your loyalty program is launched, our system will begin syncing loyalty customer properites to Klaviyo.
You will find these customer properties starting named with the prefix wv_ and you can refer to the full list of customer properties in this article
Here are some examples of how you can use custom properties:
a. Populate email content - Use wv_point_balance to populate point balance into your emails
If you run campaigns to promote seasonal reward catalogues, you can include the customers current point balance within the email content by using the wv_point_balance customer properties so customers can see their current point balance and immediate take action to use their points on the new seasonal rewarad catalogues.
You can insert custom properties into your email content by clicking the personalization icon in the editor and selecting the corresponding custom property from the list.
b. Build customer segments - Gold tier customers who are at risk of becoming dormant
The same custom properties can also be used to build specific customer segments, used in conjunction with other metrics or properties available in Klaviyo.
For example, I can create a segment for dormant Gold tier users by creating a customer segment where
properties about some one - wv_member_tier equals "WVTier_Gold"
AND what someone has done - Placed order zero times in the last 90 days
c. Create conditional splits in your Flows - Use wv_member_tier to create conditional splits in your birthday emails to highlight the perks for the relevant tier
If you have different birthday perks set up for your customers, you can use the wv_member_tier parameter to separate your automation into different paths based on their tier
Each path can be led to send out an email template that communicates the specific perks of each tier so that cusotmers will receive the most relevant information on what they can enjoy during their birthday month
To do so, simply add a conditional split logic in your Klaviyo flow and configure the settings using "Properties about someone"
Using loyalty events (app metrics)
Once the integration is enabled and your loyalty program is launched, our system will begin sending loyalty events (app metrics) into Klaviyo as they happen in OMNI Loyalty.
OMNI Loyalty events (app metrics) begin with the prefix wv and are branded with our app logo. You can refer to the full list of app metrics in this article
Here are some examples of how you can use our loyalty events (app metrics):
a. Automate email communications upon specific loyalty events occuring - Send a point expiring soon email when points expire in 30 days
You can use the "wv/points/expiring" loyalty event (app metric) to set up a points expiring soon reminder to your customers. This loyalty event is triggered 30 days before a point transaction is about to expire.
Make sure you utilize the parameters included in the event to provide personalized context to your email, including information such as their
Current point balance
Amount of points expiring 30 days later
When thoese points expire
You can add event parameters into your email content by
Clicking on the "Personalization" icon and selecting "Event" in the dropdown.
Click view all properties to see the event properties
Click on the specific properties to copy the code snippet
Paste it back into your email template to populate those values
You can also customize how certain values are formatted in Klaviyo. For example, you can define how you want dates and times to be defined following this guide
b. Build customer segments
You can also use our loyalty events to build customer segments in Klaviyo based on whether the customer has triggered certain loyalty events previously and the event details by selecting the "What someone has done (or not done).
For example, we can create a segment for customers who have been issued a welcome reward in the last 30 days but has not made an order yet by combining the following criteria
Person has
wv/reward/issuedat least once in the last 30 days wherereward_nameequalswelcome couponAND Person has
Placed orderzero times in the last 30 days
Conclusion
You can utilize our in depth and real-time event and property syncs into Klaviyo to create detailed analysis or highly targeted loyalty behavior based segments to understand and drive conversion on your store. You can also set up automations for loyalty communicaitons that are context rich and on time to make use of time-sensitive situations to enable the right engagement with your customers.
